Bangkok, Finally! [Part 2]

Yisss. One post is not enough to talk about a week experience in Bangkok. There were so many amazing things that happened!

Aih, anyway. Because this event was held in the middle of mourning period of Thailand. I should tell you about this. Thai really loves their King. It can be seen that in every part of Thailand (in the roads, inside the rooms) they put their King's picture, full of flowers (again, I'm not good at describing smth) to show their deep condolences. And most of them literally wearing black during the mourning period. And, there was a bazaar as well! To sell black clothes.. like really.  Btw, on the first day I stupidly wore my red cloth, and I just realised it when I already going down at the lift. Thank God, the committee understands me and I cover  my cloth with my black cardigan fiuh.
Another country should learn from Thai, how they love their King.

Now it's my turn, on the fourth day of the forum, team Women Empowerment went to ACCPCJ which was held in Dusit Thani Hotel. We went there before lunch. Still, team Migrant Workers has been there since morning. But, no worries, we were having lunch in Dusit Thani. After lunch, Women Empowerment had its own session (every panel attended different session, depends on each topic). The speakers still amazing women. Dr.Sita also coming there to speak up again. We attended a session regarding Women's Access to Justice in Southeast Asia. What amused me was that we got free books published by UN Women. Like.. God. You kidding me? From UN Women? Those were made my luggage full, the free books ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
I will be using those books as my literature of my undergraduate thesis. Definitely.. ๐Ÿ˜„
After that, we were in the main ballroom of ACCPCJ. Still can't believe it until now. Princess of Thailand was coming!! I saw her in person! We were attending the same conference!!
By the way, ACCPCJ was attended by each government officials from ASEAN countries, Thai Government Official,  expertise, academia, and I was attended as youth.
Indeed, my team stayed in Dusit Thani since before lunch until we were finishing dinner. H4H4H4 dinner again, in Dusit Thani. Okay, Ratih...you always eating. Sorry if I mentioned a lot about eating. Because yes, I was eating those goddamn delicious foods a lot ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿด๐Ÿœ๐Ÿฐ

Move to the last day of the conference, finally we all four panels went to Dusit Thani together to attend ACCPCJ. Yaaaay, so excited! We were going to Dusit Thani with our (free) polo from TIJ Youth Forum.  I felt the togetherness :p
Uuuw, last day of the conference. It's TIJ Youth Forum's turn to present what has been done during the forum. We should present out result from the past 4 days in TIJ. Yes, we should make something that can be implemented in each country in order to prevent its case happens. Because we had 4 panels, so only 4 representatives that speak up in the ACCPCJ. 3  out of 4 were from Indonesia (I was not).  I am a proud Indonesian, indeed.
By the way, during the conference also talked about the offenders in Thai that provided with massage skill during the rehabilitation. By giving the skills, the Royal Thai government expects the inmates can be accepted again in the society.
And, I tried Thai massage for free !@#$%^&* well, I tried the Thai massage just because I'm curious with something new. Hahaha, and its free so why not ๐Ÿ˜…
On the last day of ACCPCJ, I met some representatives from Indonesia as well. Guess what, the representatives sent by Indonesia to ACCPCJ were from KEMENKUMHAM (Ministry of Law and Human Rights). Okay, I feel so proud. Really. And during lunch, we were sitting together in one table with the officials from KEMENKUMHAM.

By the way, its always a bitter part in every journey. But, different with my previous journey in Pakistan (I could mention the case, not name), in this issue I prefer to keep it for myself. Thank you for that guy I couldn't mention his name in here as well, it was supposed to be no one knows what happened to me at that night. But because you were being FUSSY wkwkwkwk so yea......
I give you my deepest gratitude somehow for kept asking and etc etc. Thank you for your such random messages, I know we were both sad so it turns out you were being random. Thank you =) (Please don't guess, people)
Put aside that, I was truly blessed to be there, in Bangkok, Thailand. I have dreamt of it for like 5 months. Cmon! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

After TIJ Youth Presentation, well,... the conference already over. I'm start being sad. It's time for...field trip. Yass. Field trip! We went to Jim Thompson House to look at the architecture of the house. Anyway, Jim Thompson popularly known as the best founders of silk in Thailand *duh kumaha ieu jelasinnya 555*. We spent like 3 hours in Jim Thompson then going back to hotel.
To prepare for the very-last-moment in TIJ Youth Forum ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Farewell night ๐Ÿ˜ฉ
Well, in farewell night every delegate wears their national costumes. Farewell night including time for giving certificate. So it means that the events already over ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

In farewell night I was being chatty and fussy as well. I came on time, at 6pm sharp and in the stairs I kept whining because of the decoration was using 'good bye'. Oh please, that is not even a good bye. It is definitely only a 'see you'.
This is the photo that shows how proud I am being part of TIJ Youth Forum 2016, from Indonesia.

Mmmm, Indonesia has the most number of delegates in TIJ Youth Forum 2016. We had seven out of forty participants from ASEAN and Non-ASEAN countries. Separated into four panels. Although I was alone in the Women Empowerment panel, 5555. I am really grateful to meet them anyway. They are mostly my kakak-kakak, or on the other words, I am the youngest delegate (& Paul juga sih) that somehow I am lesssss experience than kakak-kakak whom I met in Bangkok.

Mba Nabiyla, who also my lecturer in my faculty wkwk, she's an expert already okkk๐Ÿ˜ Kak Monik, former delegate in previous TIJ Youth Forum & Main Director of FKPH UB. Cool! ๐Ÿ‘ Kak Adit, who makes all delegates have new accent after coming back from Thailand ๐Ÿ˜‘, and he works in legal aid foundation already ugh. Kak Arbi or popularly known as Chris throughout the forum, my senior in campus who will graduate soon kkk master of technology.. I'm waiting for his book anyway, about Dark Web ๐Ÿ˜… Paul but I prefer to call him "Paulus" after seeing his nametag. Former friend in AIESEC project but I just knew him in person at this event anyway. Dimas nya Sleman. ๐Ÿ˜Š lastly, Kak Andhika that I already knew since years ago. Former senior back then in high school lol, half Japanese, former debater, dan tetap ambis banget sampai sekarang kkkkkkk. See, dan Ratih yang biasa-biasa saja :) I am proud standing amongst them.

And, for those who are interested to join TIJ Youth Forum as well. I think it will be held annually, for further information.. keep update on TIJ Youth Forum's Facebook
Ah, and also.. I would let you know regarding the follow-up project made in TIJ Youth Forum. We want our project possible to establish. We are still in the process of making AYAWJ happens.

BTW, the reason why I put "finally!" in the title because I wanted to go to Thailand  -- specifically, Bangkok -- since mid 2016, looking for many events in Thailand but none of them in line with my passion or my background. Plus, we should pay some amount of money to join those events.
Until I almost give up, then suddenly planning to keep going to Bangkok on January 2017, with my own savings. Already booked the hotel for staying.. gak sabaran sih Ratih.
It takes like one month for me to get the announcement since I was applied to this event. I am waiting for  about one month to receive the result.
But thank God, God gives me the chance. And its free =)

On the last day, departure day, I went to Don Mueang with first bus provided by TIJ Youth Forum. And one question I really remember till today. Fila asked "I don't know how you manage to put everything in your small luggage?" Janice and I suddenly laughing, she didn't know what happened last night in our room. (I literally almost crying because I couldn't put all my goods in the luggage, Janice helped me then finally the luggage can be closed 5555555)
Last BIG picture, hereby attached the picture of all delegates + committee.

Lastly, I am very thankful to be surrounded by those great people. Looking forward to having another international conference! In different parts of the world! See you when I see you, pals!

(p.s : 5 = HA in Thai, 555= HAHAHA)

Keep in touch,  all delegates. Kap khun ka ๐Ÿ˜š๐Ÿ˜š๐Ÿ˜š

Bangkok, Finally! [Part 1]

Firstly, I would like to thank Thailand Institute of Justice and indeed TIJ Youth Forum Team for making such great events although its still in the middle of mourning period. Don't forget to say, I'd like to send my deep condolences towards His Majesty King Bhumibol.
Yep, I was going to Thailand for my first international forum plus conference. It's called as TIJ Youth Forum on Justice and Rule of Law 2016, under the theme "Sustainable Development through Crime Prevention", in conjunction with the 1st ASEAN Conference on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. I was selected as one of 40 delegates who were able to participate in the forum amongst all ASEAN and non-ASEAN youths. This event was held in the capital city of Thailand, yup its Bangkok. I went to Thailand from 6-12 November 2016. Only stayed a week but that was amazing!

TIJ Youth Forum on Justice and the Rule of Law 2016 was hosted by Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), had 4 panels inside to discuss regarding: Migrant Workers, Women Empowerment, Crime & Technology, and Wildlife Trafficking. I was in Women Empowerment panel. It is so me, right? #SDG5

Without further due, let's begin my story in Thailand! I was arrived at Don Mueang Airport at 10.15am, passed the immigration, took my luggage, then came out at the arrival hall at 11am. On time with the first bus from TIJ Youth Forum. Michelle and Vannak already arrived first than me, this thus after I come then we directly go to hotel. According to the schedule, there was no plan for 6th November (only for gathering all delegates basically). So I assumed that it would be free time the whole day, and it was not covered by the committee. But then, I thought wrong. Lunch and dinner still covered by the committee. And we still had free time for like 4 hours in between lunch and dinner. So that, I went to Chatuchak Weekend Market. OK, went shopping on my first day of "travelling", that's rarely happens to me ๐Ÿ˜œ
Eh, before going to Chatuchak, my friends and I went to Siam Square first.

Like another capital city,  Bangkok is full of skyscrapers and tall buildings.
I stayed in AETAS Hotel Bangkok (Ruamrudee) anyway, 4 star hotel --I got one sharing room, twin bed--. It's only 5 minutes walk to Phloen Chit BTS. My roommate was from Malaysia, pretty Janice Hew.
No jet lag anyway from Jakarta to Bangkok, idk because there is no exact difference between Jakarta and Bangkok (the circumstances), and also no time difference between Indonesia and Thailand. I could go somewhere directly after arriving.

On 7th November, the forum officially begins. We gathered first at the lobby to go to the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ). From our hotel to TIJ it was only took 7 minutes walk. The first day was only seminar from the most outstanding, fancy, and amazing speakers! The Director of TIJ, Mr. Kittipong Kittayarak welcomed us with his greetings. Followed by speech from Mr. Zaman Sia Sarif, the Director of International Commission of Jurists Regional Asia and Pacific. Their speeches were truly awesome and inspiring. (and I still have unanswered question to him ๐Ÿ˜… but time was not permitting me to asked).
In the afternoon, we were having our first discussion in each panel. Only an hour for talking about our perspectives by each participant. Then in the evening, we got a welcome dinner of TIJYF at Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel Bangkok. Just a spoiler, I met my senior back then in high school in this forum.... again. Little reunion of SMANIC haha.

Anyway, since my first day arriving in Thailand, the committee has provided me with overwhelming meals ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‘ buffet, snack, buffet, snack. I am pretty sure I gained weight after coming back from Thailand. Almost every day I talked to myself, "Ratih, stop eating... Ratih, don't eat everything" HAHAHAHA. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Thanks TIJ Youth Forum Team!

Second day was made to start the discussion, but women empowerment team got such an excursion to go to Women Prison!! Yaaay. On the women prison, I saw how Thai government thinking so much about their peoples. Even the offenders in the prison, still being treated (more than) humanely. I went to a prison that's special for drug addicts. The main aim of this prison is not only to detent the offenders, but they focus on the rehabilitation. After that, we went back to TIJ Office. Followed by the next speaker, Dr. Sita. She is truly inspiring. She told us what are the main problems that occurred to women. We got 2 speakers at that day. But but, we went to Dusit Thani in the evening to have welcome dinner of ACCPCJ. I sat together with team halal food h4h4h4. I ate a lot, like...a lot  ๐Ÿ˜”well, eating in most costly hotel (&free) is my one of a kind experience. Ah ya, from day 2 until day 4, each panel has their own schedule. Thus,  Wildlife Trafficking already going to Dusit Thani first before 3 other panels.

--I guess there was a free time given by the committee. But I forgot whether it was on the second...or third day. I went to Asiatique. Mandatory visit when in Bangkok, right? ๐Ÿ˜œ --
--If it was on the second day, thus welcome dinner in Dusit Thani was on the third day-- then we were continue finishing the proposal--

Third day was truly made for discussion. Whole day discussion for project making. I wouldn't say much ๐Ÿ˜‹ we made the project until 1am at the hotel. Anyhow, all delegates seems already understood quite well about its topic they were represented. Meanwhile, I was selected (probably) because I showed my eagerness about women empowerment itself. But somehow, since I am passionate to it so I am wholeheartedly happy to learn more and make the project.
During the project making was tiring yet fun because we did it together. ๐Ÿ˜

To be continued... :)
